Arsenal take on Valencia in the semi-final of the Europa League on Thursday night
Unai Emery is preparing for Arsenal’s Europa League semi-final clash with Valencia this Thursday.
The Gunners boss put his players through their paces at London Colney on Wednesday, but accidentally revealed a little more than he would have liked on his tactics clip board.
Pictures taken by Arsenal show the Spaniard’s ideas ahead of the first leg, and it appears he plans to play with three at the back.
Arsenal are currently without the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Hector Bellerin, Denis Suarez, Rob Holding, and Danny Welbeck, while Nacho Monreal remains a doubt, meaning Emery is having to think outside the box.
Emery spoke to the press on Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s semi-final in London, where he revealed he aspirations.
“It’s the present [that counts]. I want to create history with Arsenal,” said Emery.
“One is with the Champions League and two is with the Europa League. We need to create a big atmosphere at the Emirates and be with our supporters tomorrow night against Valencia.”
On the challenge of Valencia, he added: “Our focus is now on the first leg but also next week in the second leg.
“Also in the Premier League with possibilities to be in the top four. The players are very focused on that. We need to use each moment for all our possibilities.”
