Shukela Xpress: More misery as Amakhosi continue winless streak | #KaizerChiefs vs #BloemfonteinCeltic

I’m still waiting for the day when I am going to write this column without criticizing Amakhosi, I’m tired of using my hammer all the time when I write about them. Hopefully it will be soon, because it comes across as if I have something against the Phefeni Boys.

If you’re associated with Amakhosi by now, whether you are driver, fan, management, coaching staff, or players,  youdefinitely must be feeling the suffocation of this bad phase manje (now). Sadly there’s one man to blame the coach (Komphela ).

Nine games without a win, with six lousy draws, that should give you a message that the problem is really in the field and uncharacteristic of Amakhosi. Trust me, the management knows the problem, it’s only the fans or supporters who seem to think ukuthi (that) the problem is the coach.

FNB Stadium against Bloemfontein Celtic, who are in a similar situation in terms of results and bad phase, so you can imagine how the game was going to turn out.

Similar approaches were applied by both teams, transition vs transition. My opinion on this approach is entirely upon the quality of the players you have, so you are forced to resort to a counter attack approach, so the message is clear both teams don’t have quality with regards to a playing squad.

Brilliant Khuzwayo started again, and I believe it’s a case of putting mileage on his legs and to give him a chance while Khune is sidelined by an injury. He made some important saves towards the last critical phase of the game but we all know the role Khune plays in that defence. In defence Ramahlwe Mphahlele kept his right back spot, definitely not his best performance. He stuck to his primary job, maybe a lack of confidence was playing at the back of his head. Daniel Cardoso on the left back once more and he looked unsure, especially when challenged by skillful or speedy players. He always dives to a tackle and maybe it’s a case of being too ambitious to win the ball, but he’s not solid on the left back . Eric Mathoho came in for Siyanda Xulu, an obvious partner to Lorenzo Gordinho. Mathoho looked okay, but you can tell he never did development. There are serious elementary mistake in his game especially without a partner that can communicate with him. Gordinho is the same, he gets too ambitious and makes unnecessary challenges from time to time, but yesterday it was an off day for both of them.

Midfield,Willard Katsande was replaced by Lucky Baloyi as he was serving  suspension, Baloyi did his primary job, but maybe because Celtic didn’t pose any serious threat, he did ok, George Maluleka looked lathergic especially upon getting into attacking the final third entry, his decision making or that final ball were quastionable. As for George Lebese, I give up on him, so the less said the better,Edmore Chirambadare is not PSL material, he made fouls after giving away possession, Celtic’s right back got man of the match award for overlapping and Chirambadare made him look good as he struggled to get past him.

Siphiwe”Shabba” Tshabalala had a decent game, he tried to penetrate direct and central with combination play but the overload in the Celtic central area was tight. Michelle Katsvairo got an early chance in the first half after the Celtic keeper made a blunder but he couldn’t terminate, a lack of quality, and to make matters worse, confidence ayikho (it’s not there), he was substituted for Bernard Parker.

Joseph Molangoane came for Lebese, but he made no impact, pressure bafethu.

It’s going to be Polokwane City this Sunday angazi because they are high confidence .
