Komphela Doesn’t Have The Material To Win Games And Cups For Amakhosi

Komphela doesn’t have the material to win games and cups for Amakhosi

Kusukile lokho futhi (it’s on again). Pressure, pressure , and more pressure again for Steve Komphela, and this time it’s a massive one. Every Khosi fan or supporter wants him off the hot seat,it looks like he’s shouldering all the blame and doing it alone, trust me.

The worrying factor for me is everyone doesn’t seem to know ukuthi Komphela doesn’t have the material to win games and cups for Amakhosi. So everybodies goalpost is Komphela unfortunately, which is where I differ with everyone. I obviously know ukuthi resigning for him is not an option, cause it will come out as if he has failed. So the question is how long can he soak up this pressure?

The majority of the players that Amakhosi has manje (now), are just players and it ends there, I’m sorry. To be a Khosi player you need to have quality with regards to ability and mentality to play under pressure, and produce the best performance with positive results and do it regularly. But it’s not their fault, bona they have been identified and signed unfortunately.

Coming to the game, he (coach) didn’t have the luxury to refresh and rotate the squad because of limited options, like Sundowns and Pirates. So most changes are usually forced changes, through injuries and suspension.

Komphela made one change in defence, Daniel Cardozo came in for Eric Mathoho, who got injured in the last game. Other than that, he kept the same team with the same structure (4-2-3-1).

In goal Khune got 6/10 and he did well, but he saved Masina’s header (Cape Town City) that was already in, lucky it was not spotted by the referees assistance. Unfortunately he didn’t finish the game through a back injury. I’m hoping it’s not a serious one cause Amakhosi desperately need him.

Khune

In defence was Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Mpho Khumalo, Lorenzo Gordinho, and Cardozo. Ramahlwe looked fresh and did his primary job very well, but didn’t go forward more like usual to balance the wing play that emphasises his role in Khosi’s tactical plan, he gets a 6/10. Khumalo for me lacks a bit of maturity in his game because he has the right attributes to become one of the best left backs la eMzansi (in South Africa). He got sent off unnecessarily, made a challenge on the halfway line where there was no danger. Trust me, his red card changed the whole of Amakhosis tactical strategy. It was as early as the first 26th minute of the game,  he gets 4/10. The central pairing of Gordinho no (and) Cardozo produced a fair game for both, they looked relaxed and comfortable. Maybe it’s because they were not tested, but again they need to learn to deal with the danger away from the final defensive third, plus communicate more, both got 6/10.

Emkhabeni (Midfield), Willard Katsande dropped to the centre back, Cardozo went to the leftback and the structure became 4-4- 1, Siphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala no George Maluleka became two screeners to protect the defence.

Katsande did well under the circumstances, but it is not his strong role 6/10. Maluleka no Shabba, I thought did well, especially Maluleka as he was forced to sit more to allow Shabba to advance the attacks more. He took a shot that gave Khosi the lead that deflected ku Michelle Katsvairo, but overall he (Maluleka ) looked hungry, 6/10.  As for Shabba, this time Amakhosi needed him more, 5/10. Lebese again didn’t show drive, hunger and desire; also, its high time someone reminds him ukuthi this is an opportunity of a lifetime. No consistency whatsoever, 4/10. Edmore Chirambadare worked so hard defensively without the ball trying to cover the left hand side, but upon regaining possession of the ball, he couldn’t advance or use his pace to come out quicker to counter attack . He constantly gave it away, 5/10. Amakhosi were playing a dangerous offensive transition right in the centre and obviously “turnover is dangerous in the middle when developing transition”, it opens your defensive unit.

Up front Katsvairo, apart from deflected ball he scored, he was his usual self, nothing special bekufana (all the same ). I expected him to use his pace (Ferrari) on transition, but he lacks an important aspect game insight or intelligence 5/10. Replaced by Parker, who I think was KOMPHELA’s only option on the bench, shemmmmmmm 5/10.

Window period iyasondela silindile.
Yoo next game Chippa bazolifuna ngetouch nezinja. Tjovitjo
